Accessibility
We want everyone to be able to use this site, including people who use a screen reader, a keyboard only, or larger text.
What we do
- We build to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, level AA.
- Text is large by default, and you can make it larger with the A+ button at the top of every page. A− makes it smaller again.
- The High contrast button switches to black text on white with stronger borders.
- Every page and the benefits check can be used with a keyboard alone. Press Tab to move and Enter to choose.
- Forms have clear labels, and errors are explained in words next to the question.
- Results of the benefits check are announced to screen readers.
- Pages print cleanly, and the benefits check results have a Print button.
- We do not use accessibility “overlay” tools. The site itself is built to be accessible.
You can also use your browser’s own zoom (Ctrl and + on Windows, Command and + on a Mac) up to 200% or more without losing content.
Report a problem
If something on the site is hard to use, please tell us which page and what happened. We aim to fix accessibility problems quickly.
