Privacy
Short version: the benefits check does not save or send your answers. We do not ask for your name, address, date of birth or Social Security number. There is no advertising or tracking on the benefits check pages.
The benefits check
- Your answers stay in your web browser. They are not sent to our server or to anyone else, and they are cleared when you close or leave the page.
- The ZIP code is used only to look up your state, inside your browser.
- No analytics, advertising or social media code runs on the benefits check pages.
- When state results are added, the check will send your state, ages, household size and dollar amounts (never your ZIP code or anything that identifies you) to our own server to calculate state rules. Our server does not store or log them.
Other pages
- We use Matomo, a privacy-focused analytics tool that we run ourselves, to count visits to our article pages. It does not use cookies and it shortens IP addresses so visitors cannot be identified. We do not use Google Analytics.
- Our servers keep standard technical logs (such as the page requested and the time) for security, for a limited time.
- If we show advertising in the future, it will only be on article pages, never on the benefits check or its results.
Settings saved on your device
If you change the text size or turn on high contrast, that choice is saved in your own browser so it stays the same on the next page. It is not sent to us.
Contact form
If you write to us, we receive your email address and message so we can reply. We use them only to answer you and delete them when no longer needed. Please do not send private details such as your Social Security number or health information.
We do not sell data
We do not sell, rent or share personal information. We do not take money from insurance companies or plans for referrals or leads.
